Tom Hine

Tom Hine is the Managing Member of Capital Wealth Management, LLC and has more than eighteen years of experience in the financial services industry.  Throughout those years, Tom has been devoted to maintaining high ethical standards while developing sound financial planning ideas.  Over the past ten years, Tom is also an accomplished speaker and has given more than 100 presentations, including national wealth advisory conferences, major corporations and public seminars.  After the publication of NASD Arbitration Solution: Five Black Belt Principles to Protect and Grow Your Financial Services Practice, Tom completed a successful nationwide promotional tour.

Tom received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Connecticut in 1983, majoring in Business and Finance.  He also received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Connecticut in 1986, graduating Cum Laude. 

Tom earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, CO and his Certified Funds Specialist (CFS) designation through the Institute of Business and Finance in La Jolla, California.

In 2003, Tom became what is known in the industry as a Million Dollar Producer.  This means that his practice generates gross revenue in excess of one million dollars.  He has increased his practice over the intervening years, and is currently working towards the two million dollar level.  In addition, he has been interviewed or featured in three industry publications. 

Tom Hine holds a 4th degree black belt in Shotokan Karate, awarded to him by the Japan Karate Association.  The Japan Karate Association is an international school headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and has millions of students worldwide.  Tom began training with the Japan Karate Association in September 1980 at the University of Connecticut Karate Club under Sensei Robert Jacobs.  Starting in 1992, Tom has served as an Assistant Instructor under the guidance of Sensei Jacobs at the University of Connecticut Karate Club and has competed regionally, nationally and internationally.  In 1992, he traveled to Tokyo, Japan to compete on the US team in the International Shoto Cup Competition. 

Tom and his family make their home in Glastonbury, Connecticut.

John Brubaker

John Brubaker has been a full-time writer since 1985, having written, edited and produced more than 30,000 pages of final copy during that time.  He graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Sciences in 1976.  For a period of seven years, John pursued a career in sales, sales management and sales training with the Southwestern Company, a subsidiary of the Los Angeles Times Mirror Corporation.  He was recognized as the company’s Sales Manager of the Year in 1981.  In 1983 he served as Northeast Regional Training Manager, overseeing the training of 800 student salespeople.    

Mr. Brubaker has written business plans and marketing material for a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, retail, information technology and e-commerce.  As a freelance writer, his work has appeared in  Executive Edge and American Fitness magazines as well as the Hartford Courant and USA Today newspapers.

While at Yale, John earned five varsity letters in track and field and was recognized as a member of the All-Ivy Track and Field Team.  He has continued his athletics as an adult, earning a First Degree Black Belt in martial arts, earning dual certification in Tae Kwon Do and Dae Han Mu Doo in 2004.  John has competed in masters track & field for the past several years, twice earning bronze medals in national competitions.  He completed his first decathlon in the fall of 2005.
